Copyright © 2012. Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology Curettage has been the method of choice for treatment of spontaneous abortion from the past. However, such a surgical treatment method can induce abortion-related complications such as bleeding, infection, and uterine damage and perforation, and increase maternal morbidity, and even in some cases it has been reported to be related to maternal death [1,2].
